I don't know about you, but this summer is going by so fast! It seems like we barely just started the spring season. I've been enjoying an amazing summer of weddings. Between being the DJ for The DJ Music System and working at the Weborg 21 Centre, it's one wedding after another.

Some may think with all of these weddings, they are simply workdays, or as one bride said to me once, "this is probably just another day of work for you." Believe it or not, it's quite the opposite. Each wedding is unique, each couple is unique, and every weekend is different from one to the next. One weekend I will be playing to a crowd that wants 90% country music, then the next reception, they don't want any country music played, except for a few specific country songs...while another couple wants me to play anything and everything to keep their guests dancing. These 3 examples all happened this month and is something a professional DJ has to be able to adapt to and provide for each couple...and I love it!

This summer I've done weddings at the Weborg 21 Centre, the Hampton Inn & Suites, the Scottsbluff Country Club, Sandford Hall in Mitchell, and traveled to Guernsey & Fort Laramie for a ceremony and reception!! Our design crew at Weborgs went to the Fort Laramie Community Center to decorate it and we totally transformed the community center to a beautiful venue for a June 22nd reception.

On June 28th, we had a huge wedding reception at the Weborg 21 Centre for Kaitlin and Dillon (more about this reception will be on their blog). Their guest list was for 600 people!! I am actually related to Dillon, so it was great seeing a lot of my relatives at that reception...it almost felt like a family reunion to me and I'm sure for lots of my relatives, too!

Looking ahead to August, I have 5 weddings booked with 2 of them being back to back on a Friday night and Saturday night. At the end of June, I did the same thing with back to back weddings at the Weborg 21 Centre.

While this is a busy summer of weddings, there has been a shift in what is considered "wedding season." It wasn't that many years ago when wedding season was June, July, and August...with the occasional early May wedding and sometimes one or two in September. It's 2019 and times have changed. Wedding season really is now year-round. I have weddings every month all the way through December this year and last year, too.

I will keep you up-to-date with weddings, share some stories from them, and post pictures as well. I generally post these first to Facebook, since it's the quickest way after a wedding and then later post a blog to this site. So, make sure to visit The DJ Music System Facebook page and my personal Facebook page for the latest in the pictures I share from each wedding.
